The Problem

AI compliance documentation gets scattered fast

AI system records often get scattered across policy documents, spreadsheets, vendor notes, emails, model records, and internal reviews. When teams need to explain what an AI system does, what data it uses, where human review happens, and what evidence supports the record, the documentation can become fragmented and difficult to prepare.

The Solution

One workspace for AI system records, evidence, and review notes

Berly guides users through structured documentation fields, supports AI-assisted drafting with human approval, links evidence to claims, keeps review notes and audit history, and exports an AI documentation package for human, legal, or compliance review.

Who Berly is for

Berly is built for people who need to organize AI system documentation before review, client delivery, internal governance work, or external assessment. Berly does not replace professional judgment. It helps consultants, lawyers, and compliance teams structure the review process, attach evidence, and make the work easier to explain and export.

Built for AI compliance documentation workflows

Evidence and Claim Review

Attach supporting documents to AI documentation claims. Berly helps users link evidence to claims and flag items for human review.

Field-Level Regulatory Guidance

Each documentation field includes plain-English guidance and source references so users understand what information they are being asked to provide and why.

AI-Assisted Drafting

Use AI-assisted drafting to generate field-level suggestions from your project context. Every suggestion requires human-in-the-loop approval before it is saved.

Multi-Framework Workspace

Organize one AI system record across selected frameworks, including EU AI Act, Colorado SB 24-205, Illinois AI employment laws, NYC Local Law 144, and CPRA ADMT, with mapping support to NIST AI RMF and ISO/IEC 42001.

Example workflow: documenting an AI-supported hiring system

A hiring workflow is one example of where AI documentation can become difficult to organize. Berly helps structure the information, evidence, review notes, and exportable records around the system for human, legal, or compliance review.

1

Describe the AI system

Capture what the system does, who uses it, what workflow it supports, and where AI is involved.

2

Screen relevant frameworks

Use the classifier and framework guidance to understand which selected AI governance frameworks may be relevant for further review.

3

Complete structured fields

Work through guided documentation fields for system purpose, data use, risk-related notes, notices, human review, and evidence.

4

Use AI-assisted drafting

Generate draft suggestions from project context, then approve, edit, or reject each suggestion before anything is saved.

5

Attach and review evidence

Link supporting documents to claims and flag gaps where the evidence may need human review.

6

Export the documentation package

Create a structured PDF package with review notes and audit history for human, legal, or compliance review.

This is an illustrative workflow, not legal advice or a compliance determination.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a subscription?

No. Berly is a one-time purchase. Pay once, own the software. No monthly fees, no renewals, no recurring charges.

What is AI compliance documentation?

AI compliance documentation is the set of records that helps explain an AI system: what it does, what data it uses, where human review happens, what evidence supports the record, and what documentation package can be reviewed later. Berly helps organize those records into a structured workflow.

Does Berly provide legal advice or complete risk assessments?

No. Berly is not legal advice. It helps organize AI system records, evidence, review notes, risk-related notes, and documentation packages so they can be reviewed by the appropriate human, legal, or compliance professionals.

What frameworks are included?

Berly Pro includes structured documentation support for the EU AI Act (Regulation 2024/1689), Colorado SB 24-205, Illinois AIVIA and HB 3773, NYC Local Law 144, and California CPRA ADMT. All fields are cross-referenced to NIST AI RMF and ISO/IEC 42001.

Does my client data stay private?

Yes. Berly is a desktop application. Your documentation stays on your local machine. There is no cloud backend and no user account. If you choose to use AI-assisted features, requests are sent only through your own API key to the AI provider you selected.

How is this different from a Word template?

A Word template gives you blank fields. Berly provides structured documentation fields, plain-English guidance, AI-assisted drafting with human approval, evidence attachment and review support, cross-framework organization, and PDF export with audit trail. You provide the facts and professional judgment. Berly helps organize the documentation package.

What if I need a Mac version?

Berly is currently Windows only (Windows 10/11 64-bit). A Mac version is on our roadmap but has no confirmed release date. If Mac support is critical for you, contact [email protected] before purchasing.

What happens when new frameworks are added?

New frameworks will be released as separate paid upgrades. Existing customers receive a discount on future versions. Your current purchase is not a subscription and does not include future framework additions automatically, but you will not pay full price as a returning customer.

Prepare clearer AI system documentation.
