Berly is a local-first Windows desktop app for organizing AI system records, evidence, review notes, audit history, and exportable documentation packages across selected AI governance frameworks.
Available now for Windows 10/11 (64-bit). No Mac version is currently available.
Selected frameworks help structure the record. The core job is keeping the AI system proof organized.
Teams may know what an AI system does, but customer, legal, privacy, procurement, audit, and regulatory review gets harder when the system description, data notes, human review points, risks, evidence, and change history live in different places.
Berly gives users local workspaces for each AI system record, including system records, evidence, external evidence locations, Reviewer Decisions, Record Readiness, Evidence Readiness, change history, and exportable AI System Review Packages. Optional AI assist can help draft or verify parts of the record, but users stay in control of what is saved.
Berly supports two related workflows: consultants preparing documentation across client work, and small teams organizing records for their own AI systems before review.
Berly helps consultants turn an AI-system assessment into a client-ready documentation package. Instead of rebuilding the structure each time in Word or spreadsheets, consultants get a repeatable way to organize the system record, connect it to relevant obligations, attach evidence, and export the result.
Berly helps small teams organize their own AI system documentation when they are not ready for a full governance platform. It is useful before legal review, procurement, internal governance review, customer due diligence, audit questions, or any moment where someone asks for proof of how the system was reviewed.
Same product, different job. Consultants use Berly across client work. Small teams use it to organize their own system documentation.
Attach supporting documents to AI system claims or reference where authoritative evidence lives in an existing repository. Berly helps users link evidence to claims and flag items for human review.
Each record field includes plain-English guidance and readiness cues so users understand what information they are being asked to provide, what is complete, and what still needs review.
Use AI-assisted drafting to generate field-level suggestions from your project context. Every suggestion requires human approval before it is saved.
Use selected frameworks as one layer inside the broader record workflow, including EU AI Act Article 50 transparency records, Colorado ADMT / SB 26-189 covered ADMT workflows, Illinois AI employment laws, NYC Local Law 144, and CPRA ADMT, with mapping support to NIST AI RMF and ISO/IEC 42001.
Answer a few questions for a high-level, informational screen of selected AI governance frameworks that may help structure an AI system record. No email required.

Berly is a Windows desktop app. Review the system requirement before checkout.
A hiring workflow is one example of where AI system proof can become difficult to organize. Berly helps structure the system information, evidence, review notes, and exportable records in one workspace.
Capture what the system does, who uses it, what workflow it supports, and where AI is involved.
Use the classifier and framework guidance to understand which selected AI governance frameworks may be relevant for further review.
Work through guided fields for system purpose, data use, risk-related notes, notices, human review, privacy facts, and evidence.
Generate draft suggestions from project context, then approve, edit, or reject each suggestion before anything is saved.
Link supporting documents to claims, reference external evidence locations, and flag gaps where the evidence may need human review.
Export a structured PDF, DOCX, or TXT AI System Review Package with supporting evidence, Reviewer Decisions, review notes, and change history when a customer, legal, privacy, procurement, auditor, or regulator asks.
This is an illustrative workflow, not legal advice or a compliance determination.
No. Berly is a one-time purchase. Pay once, own the software. No monthly fees, no renewals, no recurring charges.
An AI system record is the set of records that helps explain an AI system: what it does, what data it uses, where human review happens, what privacy facts need to be captured, what evidence supports the record, and what package can be reviewed later. Berly helps organize those records into a structured workflow.
Berly organizes AI system records, evidence, review notes, and documentation packages. It does not provide legal advice, determine applicability, or certify compliance.
Berly Pro includes selected framework support for the EU AI Act (Regulation 2024/1689), Colorado Automated Decision-Making Technology Act / SB 26-189, Illinois AIVIA and HB 3773, NYC Local Law 144, and California CPRA ADMT. Colorado SB 26-189 repealed and re-enacted Colorado's prior AI provisions; rules are pending. Frameworks help structure the record, but the core job is keeping AI system proof organized. Fields are cross-referenced to NIST AI RMF and ISO/IEC 42001.
Berly is local-first so sensitive client or internal governance records do not need to be uploaded into another SaaS platform. There is no Berly cloud workspace or user account. When optional AI-assisted features are used, those requests are sent to the supported AI provider connected by the user.
Yes. Berly can be used manually without an API key. You can fill out the structured fields using the app's guidance, hints, and helper text. AI-assisted drafting and evidence verification require your own supported AI provider API key. Those AI-assisted requests are sent to that provider.
A Word template gives you blank fields. Berly provides structured record fields, plain-English guidance, AI-assisted drafting with human approval, evidence attachment and external evidence reference support, Reviewer Decisions, selected framework organization, and PDF/DOCX/TXT AI System Review Package export with audit trail. You provide the facts and professional judgment. Berly helps organize the review package.
Berly is currently Windows only (Windows 10/11 64-bit). No Mac version is currently available. If Mac availability is critical for you, register your interest before purchasing.
Regulations and guidance can change. Berly may receive maintenance updates for corrections or material changes to included content when identified. Newly added frameworks may be released as paid upgrades. Existing customers receive a discount on future versions.
Berly is still building its public review record. If you work in AI governance, privacy, compliance, legal operations, HR tech, procurement, audit, or advisory services, feedback on the workflow is welcome.
